Through the Aviva Community Fund, we are raising money to help us to provide a unique remote support package through our Advanced Services Project!

We hope to raise sufficient funds to be able to provide a bespoke tablet to our autistic families up and down the UK. This bespoke unit will give them direct and autism friendly access to our unique services from the safety of their own home.

There are around 3 million people in the UK affected by autism. We know autism can create a lot of strengths but also challenges socially which can lead to loneliness. Our team have created an idea so that all of our amazing autistic handlers will never feel alone even if they are far away or unable to go out as normal.

The bespoke Advanced Services Project will help to provide sensory game play for our handlers that will aid sensory regulation and expert Psychotherapy sessions for all of the family to help them cope with isolation and fears they have about covid-19. We will also be able to provide bespoke autism-friendly training for their Assistance Dog through the unit!

Each family will be provided with a purpose-built handheld device that will have a very specialist and totally unique software built in that is user friendly to an autistic way of thinking. We will make the training accessible for our autistic clients through methods such as using images, signs, and symbols, as well as using clear and simple language.

This amazing project will allow vulnerable handlers and their families nationwide to feel connected and to stay connected in a way they have never been before!

We would like to provide this incredible service to all 43 of our families and if really successful we hope to roll out to another 20 in the next 12 months.
